5 Unique Soccer Tutorials Average Players Overlook
We all like watching videos of sweet skill moves and sexy free kicks.
We like to practice the things we are good at.
But…
If you truly want to become a better player. You must learn to focus on the areas of your game, which you are not so good at.
I have collected 5 different soccer tutorials that focusing on improving areas of the game average players (not you) often overlook and neglect:
- How to shield and protect the ball against strong opponents.
- Three different ways to make more tackles.
- Tips for winning more headers / being better in the air.
- How to increase your stamina by breathing differently.
- Three methods to beat a goalkeeper in 1v1 situations.

How To Protect The Ball Properly
Regardless of your size you need to be able to protect the ball against bigger, stronger, and faster players.
Use these ideas to stop getting pushed around when you play and take better care of the ball. One of the most important skills you can develop is the ability to keep possession (DONT GIVE THE BALL AWAY).
These ideas will help you accomplish that.
How To Make More Tackles
We all want to be great attackers but what about defending?
Football / soccer is a two sided game. If you only defend, you are cheating yourself and your team. Learn to love defending and you’ll become a better player instantly.
In your next team practice or match I want you to put a strong focus on making more tackles. Set a record fo yourself. Track your tackles like you would your goals and assists.
This new obsession with tackling and defending will transform your game and all of your teammates will notice.
How To Become An Aerial Threat
Regardless of your position…
Being good in the air is a skill set which will separate your from your competition. If you can become strong in the air, you’ll become a priceless asset to your team.
Being good in the air requires proper heading technique, good vertical ability, but most importantly bravery.
Becoming a standout player on the pitch isn’t all technical and physical ability. It’s about mental strength and the desire to win your individual battles.
How To Breathe For Better Stamina
Most people don’t breathe properly…
I wasn’t for the longest time but after making changes to my breathing I noticed an instant improvement in my stamina and recovery time.
Focus on your breathe.
Simply becoming more aware of controlling your breathe will allow you to recover faster. Don’t just expect yourself to recover. Control the breathe to speed your recovery.
How To Stop Missing Good Chances
If you want to become a top level player you need to score goals when you have chances. At the higher level you get fewer opportunities. For that reason, you must become clinical in front of goal.
The best players take their chances.
Take these ideas and use them to score more goals. However, the most important skill you need to learn in front of goal is the ability to calm your mind.
Don’t panic. Breathe.
Think about your options.
Focus on your technique.
Score the goal.
Do What Is Necessary To Improve
It’s easy to practice freestyle tricks and knuckleballs but those actions won’t transfer into the results you want on game day.
I know you want to be the type of player who can win a game for their team. For that reason, you must focus on skills that matter.
Skills like the ones we’ve just talked about.
If your training is easy, the game will be hard. If your training is hard, the game becomes easy. It’s hard to focus on things we are not good at. It’s not enjoyable to practice or weaknesses, but when we do that…
We grow.
