The Reason You are Lazy And Unmotivated

Laziness, procrastination, and a lack of motivation…
are killing your dreams!

They are destroying your potential and holding you back from the player you can be.

Be honest with yourself. If you currently:

– waste time on things that don’t matter
– feel lazy and unmotivated
– procrastinate on your training
– make excuses
– skip out on practices
– aren’t improving at the rate you want

This post will make you more motivated and disciplined.
It will help you get things done and become the player you want to be.

Read it and apply it to your life.
Otherwise, you can forget achieve your goals and becoming the player you want to be.

The truth is…

If you feel lazy, unmotivated, and procrastinate…
… you simply don’t care enough / this isn’t important to you.

You may know Eric Thomas.
He’s one of the most popular motivational speakers at the moment.

He said…

“Procrastination doesn’t exist. It’s just not important to you. If I told you to meet me at 5:00am tomorrow morning and I would give you $3,000,000 dollars… where would you be? Would you be lazy and procrastinate?”

When things are truly important to you…
you don’t make excuses, you find a way to make it happen.

Now…

Just because it’s not important to you right now, doesn’t mean that it can’t be tomorrow (or right now)… all you have to do is make a stronger connection to your goals.

When you understand your vision for yourself.
And you clearly know what your goals are.
And more importantly, you truly want to achieve those goals…

Motivation becomes easy.
Procrastination is not an option.
Laziness doesn’t exist.

People are lazy when it comes to things they don’t want to do.

But… if you want to be disciplined and do these hard actions because you know they are going to help you get closer to your goals, all of this becomes something you want to do. Regardless of how tired you are, how much you’ve done, or how many obstacles are in your way. You won’t want to let a day slip away without getting closer to your goals.

So…

We need to connect with your goals.

Here’s what I do:

I make a list of all of my goals and I review them daily.
I’ve also made a vision for myself, which I review daily.

Here it is…

This is actually the screen saver and background on my phone.
So I am constantly looking and thinking about these goals each day.

I review these goals first thing in the morning.
I’m constantly reminded of them every time I look at my phone.
I go over them before every training session, gym workout, and match.

I am CONNECTED to my goals.

I know that every action I take throughout the day…
is either taking me closer to my goals or further away from them.

Therefore, laziness and procrastination are not options.
These things ARE IMPORTANT to me.

You may claim your goals are important to you.
But are your actions matching your ambitions?

Are you truly connected… or did you just say that would be nice to achieve one day?
You need to get connected. Once you get truly connected to your goals, laziness, procrastination, and lack of motivation will not be an option.

You will think about every decision you make.
Is this taking me closer to my goals? or further away?

You will think about the foods you put in your body, the time you go to bed, how much you focus on your recovery, the quality and intensity of your training, waking up at a certain time… everything you do is either taking you closer to your goals or further away… and if you are CONNECTED to those goals (they are important and you really want to achieve them) you will make the right decisions.

When you feel like sleeping in…
Review your goals, connect to them, experience them in your mind, visualize them.
Then wake your ass up!

When you feel like skipping training…
Review your goals, connect to them, experience them, visualize them.
Then put 100% effort into your session!

When you feel like laying on the couch, wasting the day, and eating junk…
Review your goals, connect to them, experience them, visualize them.
Then do something that will take you closer to your goals!

The reason you are lazy or unmotivated is not because you lack these skills.
It’s because you lack true connection to your goals and personal vision.

It’s time for you to connect.

Make a list of goals for yourself.

What are you going to achieve this month? this season? this year?
What are your long term goals? in 3 years? 6 years? 10 years?
What is your personal vision for yourself? Who do you want to become?

You can and should not only set these goals for soccer,
but for all of the important areas of your life…

Health, Fitness, Relationships, Education, Finances, Intelligence, Etc.

Now…

If you attempt to “connect” with your goals and still lack motivation and feel lazy all the time, constantly make excuses, and don’t want to do it…

Maybe, this really is not that important to you.
Maybe, you should spend your time on something you are more passionate about.

If however…

You claim you want to become the best player you can be.
And football is your passion.

It’s time to connect!

Make a list of goals for yourself.

What are you going to achieve this month? this season? this year?
What are your long term goals? in 3 years? 6 years? 10 years?
What is your personal vision for yourself? Who do you want to become?

Action Steps:

1) Create your list of goals (and personal vision for yourself).
2) Make it the background and screensaver on your phone.
3) Review it first thing in the morning and last thing at night.
4) Review it before training, gym workouts, and matches.
5) Don’t just review (but CONNECT – feel the emotion of achieving these goals!)
